Festival of New Dance 2026: Sister Nightlight

George Stamos' transdisciplinary solo show, Sister Nightlight, is a seriously playful conversation between minimalism and magic. In a spellbinding performance, Stamos entwines storytelling, childhood memories of running wild in nature and freaky nightclubbing, with supernatural humour and vulnerability. Sister Nightlight dives us into a mesmerizing space between memory, feral imagination, and actuality. A grounded soliloquy teetering on the tip of a crack, edging toward luminosity. This radiant solo is inspired by the questions: How can queer ideas about magic and kinship nourish connections with the audience? How can story and movement open imaginative portals of delight and intimacy?
